Every body is different. Your movement practice should be too.
Private lessons at The Village Well are tailored, one-on-one (or one-on-two for duets) sessions that meet you exactly where you are — your body, your goals, your season of life. Whether you’re brand-new to Pilates or looking to deepen your practice, private sessions give you the time, attention, and support to move with confidence.
Why Choose Private Sessions?
1:1 support, zero pressure
In a private lesson, it’s just you and your instructor. We move at your pace, pause to ask questions, and adapt on the spot. No keeping up with the room. No guessing if you’re “doing it right.”
Personalized for your body
We’ll consider your history, injuries, strengths, and goals — then design a session that supports you. From postural work to strength building, everything is intentional.
Progress you can feel
With consistent private sessions, you’ll build better body awareness, strength, stability, and ease of movement that you’ll feel in class — and in your everyday life.
Who Private Lessons Are Perfect For
Private lessons are ideal if you:
Are new to Reformer or Pilates and want a solid foundation before jumping into group classes
Are returning to movement after time away, pregnancy, illness, or injury (with your provider’s clearance)
Live with chronic pain, joint issues, or mobility differences and need thoughtful modifications
Are a current client who wants to go deeper on form, breath, and advanced progressions
Prefer a quieter, more focused environment or simply want the privacy of a one-on-one session
What We Offer in Private Sessions
Depending on your needs and your instructor’s specialty, private lessons can include:
Reformer Pilates – strength, stability, mobility, and control using springs and resistance
Mat Pilates – core-focused, full-body support with minimal equipment
Restorative + Gentle Work – slower, grounding sessions to help regulate stress and support recovery
Strength & Conditioning–Informed Pilates – for those who want to build power while staying mindful and safe
Each session is built for you; we’ll mix approaches as needed.
What to Expect in Your First Session
1. A short conversation
We’ll talk about your goals, history, and how you’re feeling that day so we can make the best use of our time together.
2. Movement assessment
Your instructor will gently observe how you move — posture, balance, breathing, and how certain exercises feel in your body.
3. A tailored session
From there, you’ll move through a custom sequence designed to support your body today, while building toward your long-term goals.
4. Clear next steps
You’ll leave with a better understanding of your body and a recommended plan — how often to come, when to mix in group classes, and what to focus on between sessions.
